Workshops and courses conducted
Photovoice workshop with Fakirani Jatt Youth
Designed for local youth, this phone photography workshop focused on building both technical skills and creative vision using readily available smartphone cameras. Interactive group activities guided participants through understanding basic camera functions, mastering composition and framing techniques, and experimenting with features like panorama (explored through a fun 'double role' challenge) and burst mode. An initial exercise focused on improving the quality of ID card photos, providing an immediate sense of accomplishment. Beyond the technical aspects, discussions emphasised how these skills could be applied creatively in everyday situations, fostering a new way of seeing and capturing their environment. Specially created, image-centric booklets supported the learning process, making key concepts accessible.

Photovoice Workshop with Rabari Pastoralists
In support of the PASTRES research program, at IDS, I conducted a targeted phone photography training for a Rabari family. My contribution included creating bespoke educational materials, a visual booklet simplifying phone photography basics for accessibility.
Following material development, we engaged the family in practical, field-based training sessions incorporating hands-on exercises and discussions tailored to their environment and the research context.
This was done as a collaboration with Dr. Natasha Maru (then a thesis student).
